Pocket Pages

It's Sharon up this week and I want to see pocket pages! I have been trying to incorporate pocket pages into my scrapbooking albums lately. I find them very challenging! I think I just need more practice.

Here is one I did recently featuring one of the pretty castles we visited in Sweden in 2013.

     

Pretty basic, but I like the balance and coordinating colours. And acetate photo overlays are so much fun.

I can't wait to see what pocket pages the other Party-Ers post this week for inspiration!

Inspiration-- Tropical Blues

It's Sharon this week. I gave the girls this stunning pillow image as inspiration. Seemed like a great way to generate some tropical vibes at this time of year!

    

 
I tried to replicate the look with some Hero Arts tropical foliage stamps.

It's all the rage this year... PLAID!

Hi everyone!  I'm posting my challenge from a few weeks ago... as they say, better late than never!  My challenge was to use plaid in your project.  Plaid is all the rage this year and I used plaid on my tags for Party-er Rosanne's annual tag swap.

Poinsettias or Christmas Florals!

It's Sharon and this week I want to see Christmas florals! I love poinsettias (and full disclosure I rarely have luck keeping a real one alive for long!) so I was really excited about two new(ish) things in my stash to play with.

First up is a Clearly Besotted stamp set. I embossed a poinsettia on vellum. Love how that turned out! And gold with a kraft card base just makes me happy! The sentiment is from my go-to PTI set by the lovely Maile Belles. I channeled my "inner Dee" and splatted on a bit of gold mist. :)

 





Second up uses my new Tim Holtz poinsettia stencil. I tinted some paste with a variety of distress inks. Love how the final result perfectly matched PTI's new pink Lovely Lady! I threw lots of glitter on the paste before it dried. 

 

   
I can't wait to see what kind of Christmasy floral goodness the other Party-Ers create this week!

Colour it!

It's Sharon and I want to see everyone COLOUR! It can be markers, pencils, copics, watercolour, whatever. 

I have recently discovered the joy of adult colouring books. So I decided to colour up these PTI doodle feathers with my new Staedtler pencil crayons. I set them on a watercoloured background.

Hello everyone!  It's Kathryn here and this week it is my turn to set the challenge at our Crazy Card Party.  And I chose Thanksgiving or Fall... gee, I wonder how I came up with that?  Very creative, I know!

I recently purchased the Sheltering Tree stamp set from Stampin' Up so I used them on this project.  I really love them... I think I waited too long to purchase them!

Here are my cards...they are similar but with differing sentiments.  And the swing has been moved as well!!

Trees!

It's Sharon and I'd like to see anything to do with trees...actual trees, branches, leaves, wood grain....

    



I embossed the trunk and the leaves. I love the little red die cut bird! Trees just make me happy.

Where will you TRAVEL next??

Good morning!!  It's my turn to set the challenge for this week and I chose a TRAVEL theme.  I took some pictures of the Abama Resort that Dave and I stayed at in the Canary Islands a few years ago.  As I was looking at my layouts, I decided that I need to go back and take some inspiration from my own layouts in order to complete future ones.

 I'm really loving the single page with the pocket page format these days.  I've started working on wedding layouts and I am taking the same approach!

Tropical!!

It's Sharon and I want to see anything tropical since the weather lately has certainly been hot hot hot!!

I used my Hero Arts hibiscus set to create these pretty flowers...they are almost exactly the colour of our hibiscus flowers you can see here in the background!

Love this Pillow AND the colours!
