It's all the rage this year... PLAID!

Hi everyone!  I'm posting my challenge from a few weeks ago... as they say, better late than never!  My challenge was to use plaid in your project.  Plaid is all the rage this year and I used plaid on my tags for Party-er Rosanne's annual tag swap.

Here are my tags...

I'm also loving the old fashioned truck/car theme that is all around this year too!  Link up your Plaid project below... and take a look at what the other Party-ers have come up with!

Poinsettias or Christmas Florals!

It's Sharon and this week I want to see Christmas florals! I love poinsettias (and full disclosure I rarely have luck keeping a real one alive for long!) so I was really excited about two new(ish) things in my stash to play with.

First up is a Clearly Besotted stamp set. I embossed a poinsettia on vellum. Love how that turned out! And gold with a kraft card base just makes me happy! The sentiment is from my go-to PTI set by the lovely Maile Belles. I channeled my "inner Dee" and splatted on a bit of gold mist. :)

Second up uses my new Tim Holtz poinsettia stencil. I tinted some paste with a variety of distress inks. Love how the final result perfectly matched PTI's new pink Lovely Lady! I threw lots of glitter on the paste before it dried.

I can't wait to see what kind of Christmasy floral goodness the other Party-Ers create this week!

Colour it!

It's Sharon and I want to see everyone COLOUR! It can be markers, pencils, copics, watercolour, whatever.

I have recently discovered the joy of adult colouring books. So I decided to colour up these PTI doodle feathers with my new Staedtler pencil crayons. I set them on a watercoloured background.

I can't wait to see what you colour this week!

Happy Fall Y'all!!

Hello everyone!  It's Kathryn here and this week it is my turn to set the challenge at our Crazy Card Party.  And I chose Thanksgiving or Fall... gee, I wonder how I came up with that?  Very creative, I know!

I recently purchased the Sheltering Tree stamp set from Stampin' Up so I used them on this project.  I really love them... I think I waited too long to purchase them!

Here are my cards...they are similar but with differing sentiments.  And the swing has been moved as well!!

Thanks for stopping by!  Link up your Thanksgiving or Autumn project here!

Paper Piecing

It's Rosanne with this week's challenge and it's an older technique, paper piecing.

I used paper piecing to assemble this card for my daughter's birthday:

I hope you can take some time to play along and please link up your creation below.

It's Sharon and I'd like to see anything to do with trees...actual trees, branches, leaves, wood grain....

I embossed the trunk and the leaves. I love the little red die cut bird! Trees just make me happy.

I can't wait to see what the other Party-Ers create this week for our tree theme!

Where will you TRAVEL next??

Good morning!!  It's my turn to set the challenge for this week and I chose a TRAVEL theme.  I took some pictures of the Abama Resort that Dave and I stayed at in the Canary Islands a few years ago.  As I was looking at my layouts, I decided that I need to go back and take some inspiration from my own layouts in order to complete future ones.

Here are a few shots!

I'm really loving the single page with the pocket page format these days.  I've started working on wedding layouts and I am taking the same approach!

Thanks for stopping by!  Why don't you take some time to link up your travel project?  We'd love to see them all!

Love this Pillow AND the colours!

Hi everyone!  It's Kathryn here and it's my turn to set the challenge for this week.  I've asked everyone to follow the colour scheme in this beautiful pillow for inspiration.

And here is my card...

I have to admit this is a little busier than I'm used to, but I still love how it turned out.  Thanks to Avril for letting me borrow this die set from her collection.  Play along with us this week and link up your colour inspiration project!

Can't wait to see what everyone else creates!

It's Sharon and I'd like to see bouquets!

Here are two cards I made at Crop and Create. They are similar to cards I have made in the past.

I put a "bouquet" of flowers in a jar, watercolouring everything with distress markers, Staedeler pencils and Peerless.

Here I made a loose "bouquet" of wildflowers, by scribbling on my stamps with distress markers and misting with water.

I can't wait to see what bouquets the Party-Ers create this week!

Hi there... it's Kathryn here and it's my turn to set the challenge for this week.  I've chosen friendship as the theme for this week.

I've been a bit negligent in my card making and blog postings recently.  We have been doing some renovations at our home and there were times I couldn't even get near my scrapbook stuff!!  Here's a picture of my s/b room while the construction was going on. I actually think more stuff was added as we went along.

Sooooo, back to the theme of friendship.  I'm very fortunate to have these Crazy Card Party-ers as my friends, cause I know they will understand why I'm been delinquent.  Once I'm back from vacation, I certainly plan on getting back on track!

So celebrate your friends and their friendship today and link up your project!

Black and White

Hi everyone, it's Kathryn and it is my turn to host our party this week.  I chose projects with a black and white theme.  I say theme because even I added a little pop of colour to my black and white card.

Here is my card...

Let's see who else added a little bit of colour to their projects!!  Hoping you can join our party as well  and link up your project below.

Try something new

well its a new year
time to try something NEW

I got this embroidery hoop kit at Joanne's a while back and it has
just been sitting and sitting.. I was scared to try it

Well I'm happy with the results, not bad for a first effort with french knots and such

This is resting happily in my daughter's room now

The pic is hard to tell but its a 4" hoop so pretty tiny!

It's Sharon and I choose "celebrate" for our theme since it is New Year's Eve.

...but I thought I would be a bit crazy and post this...not very new yearsie...but we could all use a little dose of summery flowers right about now!

Happy Near Year!
I can't wait to see what the other Party-Ers create this week to celebrate the turning of a new year!
